Smoky / Amethyst Phantom Quartz Crystal - NER 035

Smoky / amethyst phantom quartz crystal

Measurements:  41 x 34 x 27 mm

Description:  This specimen is actually a sceptre, but the stem is very short. The crystal has a few patches of smoky and the termination tip is semi-transparent with a touch of amethyst colouring. There are also small, red specks all along some edges of the 1st generation quartz growth, indicating that it is indeed a phantom quartz crystal.

The interesting facets of the specimen has many small, neat indentations where another type of mineral once sat, but eroded away over time. This specimen was found in the Erongo mountains in 2015.

The crystal has a minute nick on the termination tip (barely visible with the naked eye) and a few small nicks overall.
