Chalcedony ('Grape Agate') – BARG 046

Multi-sided, two-tone chalcedony cluster



Measurements:  30 x 26 x 25 mm

Description:  A multi-sided cluster of pale amethyst coloured aggregates of botryoidal chalcedony crystals (also known as 'grape agate'), with some aggregates having a greenish colouring, possibly caused by inclusions of celadonite. 

Some of the aggregates have contact marks and nicks. The specimen displays well on a flat surface, in various positions, all-round.

Background: These specimens first appeared on the global mineral market in 2016. Although they are fairly abundant at the moment, it is not known how much of this treasure is still left in the ground.
