Smoky Quartz Crystal – BARG 068

Smoky quartz crystal with a most unusual termination facet

Measurements:  64 x 21 x 16 mm

Description:  A smoky quartz crystal with a most unusual termination facet (image upper right) - it resembles growth marks which are usually found on the shaft facets only.

Two of the shaft facets have a slight roughness and dullness on them, and when viewed from the side, one can see some light greyish-green chlorite trapped under the surface.

One of the termination ridges has a few minute nicks, barely visible with the naked eye, but the lower part has contact and pressure marks. There is a broken crystal attached to the crystal's lower side.

It comes from a recent, spectacular find and specimens from this area will most probably become a novelty soon.
