Measurements: 43 x 26 x 20 mm Description: A floater amethyst quartz crystal with some additional quartz growth at the tip of the amethyst termination. The lesser side has multiple termination points. Because the outer layer of quartz is not very clear, it is difficult to see that it is actually a phantom crystal, but three of the shaft facets show the partially exposed initial quartz crystal. When the secondary growth of quartz began, it also captured (?)feldspar near the temination base. A small, double terminated quartz crystal with amethyst phantom, is fused to the side of the main crystal. A few of the terminations have small nicks. Weight of Specimen: 26.6 g Chemical Composition: SiO2 Hardness on Mohs Scale: 7 Location: Orange River pegmatites, Northern Cape, South Africa. Specimen Code: BARG 075 US $ 12 .
