Description:
A flattish quartz crystal
(42 x 11 x 05 mm) with several smaller crystals
fused together at its
base. On closer examination one can see that the main crystal was
initially
double terminated, but it looks like the small group of crystals grew
into the
lesser termination (image bottom right). Around midway of the main
crystal is a
minute, still bubble. The crystal has several minute hematite specks,
gas and
threads of epidote included. The lesser crystals have several minute
(mostly
red) hematite specks and threads. The main crystal has a small
blow-out just below the termination, and an
extremely minute nick to its termination tip, hardly visible with
the naked eye. At the lower end, where the group of small
crystals grew
into the main crystal, there is some damage, and a few contact marks,
and a few
minute nicks. Weight of
