Quartz Crystals on Matrix – NBB 107

Measurements:   55 x 46 x 31 mm

Description:  A few quartz crystals share a basalt matrix with a few pieces of calcite. The main crystal (22 x 11 x 09 mm) has a touch of light amethyst colouring, and a smaller, flat quartz crystal fused to one of its sides. The quartz crystals have several bits of minute hematite inclusions.

All the quartz crystals' termination points appear to be without any damage. The quartz crystal that lies horizontally on the matrix, has a few flaws. There is damage to the edges of the specimen and matrix covering.
