Double Terminated Quartz Specimen NBB 131

Double termilnated quartz specimen with hematite specks

Measurements:  47 x 13 x 10 mm

Description:  Two double terminated clear quartz crystals with red and blackish hematite specks, are fused together, lengthwise. The bigger of the two has a small group of crystals protruding from, and partially imbedded in its termination. The larger crystal also has a small, pale green ball of prehnite attached to the side of its termination. There is only a very faint touch of amethyst colouring in the middle of the specimen, as well as minute gas inclusions, that gives a slightly milky effect in a few spots. When tilted in light, a small rainbow can be seen just above midline.

There is a prominent pressure mark to the side of the main crystal's termination (image bottom right), otherwise only a few extremely minute nicks to the specimen (hardly visible with the naked eye).
