Measurements: 55 x 47 x 45 mm
Description: A short, stubby quartz crystal with a few patches of (mainly light) smoky colouring and beautiful large, smooth facets and lovely stepped growth marks (image left, 2nd from top). When tilted in light, a rainbow can be seen.
The bottom and sides of the specimen has contact marks, where it came loose from a softer matrix, and there are some bits of reddish hematite. The termination has only a few minute to very small nicks, while there is some damage to a few edges at the bottom of the crystal. There is a flaw that stretches about midway over 1½ of the shaft facets.
The specimen displays well on a flat surface. The image bottom left shows the bottom of the crystal.
