Quartz and (?)Calcite Crystals on Matrix – NBB 235

Unusual brandberg specimen

Measurements:  47 x 38 x 20 mm

Description:  A very interesting specimen consisting of three gemmy quartz crystals, some with a faint amethyst colouring, together with (?)calcite crystals with strange markings and inclusions of a green mineral, unknown to us, on a basalt matrix.

One of the quartz crystals have, what appears to be, a chrysocola inclusion. The middle sized quartz crystal has a small rainbow, seen when tilted in light.

The quartz crystals have a few very minute nicks (barely visible with the naked eye) and some of the (?)calcite crystals have small nicks. there is some damage to the edges of the specimen.

This is an unusual Brandberg specimen!
