Demantoid Garnets on Matrix - NER 027

Measurements:  50 x 31 x 22 mm

Description:  A druse of olive green andradite (variety demantoid) garnets on a matrix of (?)feldspar.

A few nicks, and some damage to the edges of the specimen.

Weight of Specimen:  51.9 g

Chemical Composition:  Ca₃Fe³₂⁺(SiO₄)₃  (andradite garnet) 
                                       KAlSi₃O₈  (feldspar)

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (andradite garnet)  6.5-7
                                          (feldspar)  6 - 6.5

Location:  Erongo Region, Namibia.
