Aquamarine and Schorl Crystal Cluster - NERA 004

Measurements:  37 x 26 x 22 mm

Description:  A small cluster of aquamarine and schorl crystals, with several schorl crystals inside the aquamarine and some protruding into them. 

The aquamarine crystals have only a few minute nicks, and some contact marks.

Weight of Specimen:  7.3 g

Chemical Composition:  Be₃Al₂Si₆O₁₈  (aquamarine) 
                                       NaFe²⁺₃Al₆Si₆O₁₈(BO₃)₃(OH)₄ (schorl)

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (aquamarine) 7.5 - 8.0
                                          (feldspar)  6 - 6.5
