Aquamarine and Schorl Crystal Group - NERA 006

Measurements:  51 x 36 x 27 mm

Description:  A group of schorl and pale blue aquamarine crystals, with most of the aquamarine crystals having small schorl crystal inclusions. 

Some of the crystals have nicks.

Weight of Specimen:  46.1 g

Chemical Composition:  Be₃Al₂Si₆O₁₈  (aquamarine) 
                                       NaFe²⁺₃Al₆Si₆O₁₈(BO₃)₃(OH)₄  (schorl)    

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (aquamarine) 7.5 - 8.0
                                          (schorl)  7.5
