Aquamarine Crystal Cluster – NERA 013

Measurements:  41 x 25 x 20 mm

Description:  An aquamarine crystal cluster made up of numerous small crystals. The surface is partially coated with bits of schorl, feldspar, quartz and a few bits of a greenish mineral, unknown to us.

The specimen has limited damage - only a few small nicks.

Weight of Specimen:  13.6 g

                                      NaFe²⁺₃Al₆Si₆O₁₈(BO₃)₃(OH)₄  (schorl)    
                                      KAlSi₃O₈  (feldspar)
                                      SiO₂  (quartz)

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (aquamarine) 7.5 - 8.0
                                          (schorl)  7.5     
                                          (feldspar)  6 - 6.5
                                          (quartz)  7
