Aquamarine Crystal with Schorl – NERA 017

Measurements:  23 x 12 x 10 mm

Description:  A light coloured aquamarine crystal with bits of schorl on some of its surfaces. 

The crystal has a few small nicks.

Chemical Composition:  Be₃Al₂Si₆O₁₈  (aquamarine) 
                                       NaFe²⁺₃Al₆Si₆O₁₈(BO₃)₃(OH)₄  (schorl)   

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (aquamarine) 7.5 - 8.0
                                          (schorl)  7.5
