A gemmy, green fluorite crystal with very small pyrite
crystal
inclusions, sits on a neat cluster of milky quartz crystals, partially
coated
with very minute, brownish-purple crystals (possibly chalcedony - image
middle
right). Like many
of these fluorite specimens from Riemvasmaak, it has undergone a
complicated
cleaning technique with strong acid whereby unwanted coatings are
dissolved, to
expose the fluorite crystals better. During this process, some of the
matrix
around the green crystals have been affected (white areas). The
quartz has some damage, and the fluorite has a flaw. Weight of Specimen:
