Quartz crystas with orangy-brown hematite colouring captured

Measurements:  50 x 30 x 22 mm

Description:  A group of quartz crystals with the upper half clear and a layer of reddish-brown hematite captured between two layers of quartz growth. The lower part of the specimen is milky quartz. 

The terminations have a few very small nicks, while the lower half of the specimen has some damage.

Weight of Specimen:  32.3 g

Chemical Composition:  SiO2  

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  7

Location:  Orange River area, Northern Cape, South Africa.
