Garnets on Feldspar– VAR 046

Measurements:  53 x 33 x 17 mm 

Description:  Orangy-brown garnets on white feldspar with lovely facets. The largest group measures 11 mm across. 

The single crystal has only a minute nick, while the group of crystals have a few nicks.

Chemical Composition:  Mn²⁺₃Al₂(SiO₄)₃ (spessartine garnet)
                                         KAlSi₃O₈  (feldspar)     
                                   
Hardness on Mohs Scale:  6.5 to 7.5  (spessartine garnet)
