Smoky Quartz Crystal with Inclusions - VAR 074

Measurements:  93 x 45 x 24 mm

Description:  A smoky quartz crystal with black needle-like inclusions and a few smaller quartz crystals, bits of feldspar and aegirine attached to it. 

The termination is almost black, but there are patches of lighter smoky colouring in the crystal, seen when held against light.

The specimen has very little damage; only a few small nicks.

                                         NaFe3+(Si2O6)  (aegirine)
                                         KAlSi₃O₈  (feldspar) 

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (quartz)  7
