Aegirine Crystal Spray - VAR 103

Description:  A spray of shiny aegirine crystals with a few very small feldspar crystals on a few surfaces. 

The specimen has very littkle damage - only a few small nicks.

Weight of Specimen:  11.5 g  

Chemical Composition:  NaFe3+(Si2O6)  (aegirine)
                                        KAlSi₃O₈  (feldspar) 

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (aegirine)  6 
                                          (feldspar)  6 - 6.5

Location:  Zomba Mountains, Malawi, Africa.
